Turku Art Society, which administrates the Turku Art Museum, provides annually grants to professional visual artists living in the Turku area.
This spring the association is awarding ten new grants of 2,000 € because of the COVID-19. The grants are aimed at Turku-based professional visual artists, whose employment opportunities have been reduced or their livelihood has been jeopardized by the coronavirus epidemic. This year also the Helena Bruun Fund will exceptionally provide 10 000 euros to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Helena Bruun’s birth.
An artist can apply for a travel grant when performing or exhibiting his/her works in solo or group exhibitions in Finland or abroad, at art festivals or other art events. Travel grants may only be used for personal costs related to travelling, accommodation, artwork transportation or insurance.
The residency grant is intended to cover the travel and rent expenses during the residency.
