Wilhelm Blomberg & Milka Luhtaniemi: DANGER DANGER
DANGER DANGER is a performance about dealing with challenging emotions emerging from living with the ecological crisis. The performance takes the form of a guided tour at the Turku Art Museum in connection with the Handle with Care -exhibition. The tour is led by a mischievous guide who questions why we simply fail to act in the face of the advancing eco-crisis. The guide is an intense all-knowing prophet and agitator who has the answers to what we must do and urges the audience to be the front-liners in creating this change.
DANGER DANGER was born out of the necessity to do something. To quit arts, to study environmental emotions, to do direct actions, to get back into arts, to study clown, to allow people to laugh, to grieve and to be angry, to act, to act, to act, to search for ways to act.
Wilhelm Blomberg is an environmental activist, performing artist and educator based in Helsinki. After being trained as a dancer, he has developed an interest for durational and improvisational scores as departures for making performances. He is always looking for ways to weave together his long time curiosities about interaction, humour and activism in different kinds of artistic endevours, to various degrees of success. Wilhelm spends his waking hours figuring out how to best empower people into taking action for the environment.
